It's the only manga i own right now, and you probably don't want to hear about the yaoi i read online. and Kyo and Ayame are like d**n sexy.i own vol. 1-4 in dutch, and i'm gonna buy 5, but -as far as i know- it hasn't been translated to dutch any further, so i might buy it in english after that XD (it has more than 5 volumes, right?)

the story is about Honda Tohru, a 16 year old girl who has just lost her mom, and due to some family that mover in at her grandfather's place, she's now living in a tent (yes, a TENT). that tent appears to be standing on the ground of her super-popular classmate Sohma Yuki, aka 'the prince'.
he (and Shigure, family of his) find out that she lives there, and in exchange for doing the housekeeping, she can live in their place.
but soon Tohru finds out that the Sohma family has a secret; if someone of the other sex embraces them, they turn into an animal from the chinese zodiac!

Fruits Basket is my all-time favourite manga series. I watched the anime when i was 14 and I fell in love with the characters right away. Shortly after I started collecting the manga which I've re-read a lot (some volumes are about to fall apart lol).

Now I'm 18, and I still love it as much as 4 years ago. The characters seem so human, and Takaya's use of rasters is amazing. Sadly I've almost finished reading the series; 1 volume to go ;__; I'll miss you Furuba.

What are your favourite characters btw? My vote goes to Shigure, but I like Katsuya a lot too. Heck, I like every character XD.

I don't know the manga but i think the anime is a very weird anime..i think the whole story is weird xD

I gotta agree that the story is strange at the start. It was the humour attracted me to the series in the first place. After vol. 10 or so it becomes more serious and everything starts to make sense.

The manga is a lot better than the anime, which only tells 1/3 of the story anyways... I.e. I never understood why Kyo and Yuki always fought eachother, or why everyone respected Akito (and the reason for his bit.chy attitude D:).

I just think that the anime screwed up everyone's looks... WTH does shihure have to have green hair... and Yuki's voice *rofl*!!!!
